Marcia Kennedy Cordes, EdS, LMSW
Marcia is a licensed school psychologist and licensed master’s level social worker. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Wichita State University (WSU) in 1992. She then obtained a Master of Education in Educational Psychology in 1996 from WSU and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Oklahoma in 1998. She obtained an Education Specialist in School Psychology (EdS) in 2006. Marcia has experience writing home studies for domestic infant adoption, international adoption, and adoption through foster care. Marcia is currently under clinical social work supervision and involved in a training program to become a Certified Play Therapist in order to expand services to families who are experiencing difficulties due to attachment related trauma.
Marcia works full time as a School Psychologist and part time doing adoption social work. She has been a social worker for over twenty years and has fifteen years of experience working in the field of adoption. Marcia is a certified PS-MAPP trainer and helps prepare families who want to foster or adopt. She has worked in a faith based, non-profit adoption program, as well as for state-contracted agencies. She has experience working in an inpatient hospital setting; outpatient setting; schools; and with family services.
Lana Secrest Dean, LSCSW
Lana is Marcia’s clinical supervisor as she works towards clinical licensure. Lana obtained a Master’s in Social Work from Newman University in 2001. She then pursued licensure at the clinical level, which she obtained in 2004. She has experience in the school system, private practice, and as an adoptive mom. She is also pursuing training as a Certified Play Therapist.
